A leisurely snowshoe hike along the Niagara River with a focus on general snowshoeing skills and Winter waterfowl.  Snowshoes will be provided.

Snowy Night Sky Snowshoe Night Hike
Saturday, February 7, 2015 | 7:00 – 10:00pm
Taylor Road Park - Hamburg
A very unique and exciting nighttime hike through mature forests with a focus upon snowshoeing skills, games and lessons in “after dark” Winter ecology.  Participants will also be treated to a warming campfire and tasty cold weather snacks. Snowshoes will be provided.
Fee: $15.00 members / $20.00 non-members

A moderately challenging hike through mature forests with a focus on the arts and science of wildlife tracking.  Snowshoes will be provided.

The allure of the Rocky Mountains is in every backpacker’s heart. This presentation will help you experience the high altitude solitude and remoteness of the western wilderness of the Wind River Range of Wyoming and the unique beauty and extraordinary wildlife of Yellowstone National Park. Journey to these wondrous places with your presenter Joe Allen, a professional guide and former UB professor who has led many UB classes and public programs to these unique environments.

Maple Sugaring Past and Present

Yates Park at Green Lake - Orchard Park

A series of both indoor and outdoor presentations focused upon the techniques and tools of Maple Sugaring as experienced by Native Americans, early settlers and modern producers. Following the program, a delicious pancake brunch will be served featuring our locally produced maple syrup.

Public Programming

We offer monthly programs to the general public generally conducted in the field at locations throughout Western New York. From time to time we also lead excursions to locations such as the Everglades, the Adirondacks and Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario. Please refer to the schedule for current programming.

All programs require pre-registration, which may be done online, by phone or email. When registering by email or phone, please specify the number of adults and children who will attend and provide a contact phone number. Children 5 to 12 may attend for 1/2 price unless otherwise indicated.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Paid registered participants must inform Earth Spirit via phone or email of inability to attend a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the scheduled program in order to receive a refund. If a program is cancelled by Earth Spirit, all paid participants will receive a full refund. Refunds will be made by check and mailed via the United States Postal Service within 10 business days following the program date.
