Get ready for a wilderness trip like no other! Join us for an early Winter excursion to Yellowstone National Park as we observe wolves, wildlife and predation. Our nation's oldest national park is a place of exceptional beauty in winter and the wildlife viewing and photography is beyond belief.

This program is geared toward outdoor enthusiasts interested in participating in outdoor adventures and field studies in the Rocky Mountains. The excursion will share the ecological legacy of predation by large megafauna in Yellowstone National Park. The geographical area of concentration is the famed Lamar Valley in the Northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park, one of the sites of the 1995-96 wolf reintroductions. There will be hiking, wildlife observation and photography, possible snow coach trip to Old Faithful (snow dependent), exploring natural areas, historical sites, and nearby towns.

A Sample of Daily Activities

We start with an early rise (7am) to observe the wolves' morning routine (8am) followed by a satisfying brunch (11am). An afternoon snowshoe hike (12pm) will take us to visit wolf acclimation areas and explore the park. We'll return to the cabins for dinner (5pm) and to meet with our guest speakers (7pm). Winding down the evening, (9pm) we'll enjoy stories and relaxing around the campfire as we rest up for tomorrow's adventure!

Photographic Opportunities

Participants will capture once-in-a-lifetime wildlife visuals with the help of professional wildlife photographer, Dan Hartman and an arsenal of high-end photo and optical gear.
