We are delighted to be hosting our 5th annual 5k race fundraising event on April 25th to support local environmental education!
Five years ago, Marge Borchert, then principal at Allendale Elementary in West Seneca, pushed hard for a major fundraiser to support the organization that she had grown so fond of over the previous 20 years. Earth Spirit had spent so much time outdoors and connecting kids to the earth at Allendale that the teachers and students had started to become family members and Marge sincerely believed that the work was benefiting her school immensely. It was this belief that became the impetus to begin this event and the same belief that we hold as we continue on without Marge after her passing. We encourage every individual to do something during the Earth Day week for the planet that we all share. If you’re inclined to run or walk and believe that environmental education should be supported, then please consider spending April 25th with us!
